ONE year!

We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary this past weekend and it was WONDERFUL!

We started the weekend up in the bay area celebrate Adriane's amazing life and recovery as well as Travis and Adriane renewing their vows. The celebration was perfect and we had a great time!

We headed off to Monterey on Sunday morning (with stop for lunch and ice cream in Campbell with the Dunlop family).

We stayed at a great little cottage that was perfect for the two of us! Here are some cute pictures...

We went to the Chart House for dinner on our actual anniversary and enjoyed a great meal right on the water. The restaurant had printed Happy 1st Anniversary and the date on our menus, and we had a wonderful waiter who took very good care of us. It was perfect...

Enjoying the area before dinner:

The View from our table...we spotted a few otters and seals during our meal:

On Monday we enjoyed the tickets that came with the cottage to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and spent a few hours there

We headed to Carmel for the evening to walk around and check out the cute little town and the beautiful beach.

We decided that a dinner back at the cottage sounded best, so off to pick up an amazing pizza for a quiet evening in.

On Tuesday we decided to drive back down the coast. It was a beautiful drive and we stopped a few times to check out the views...and the Elephant Seals! Yay!

For a wonderful end to our trip, we stopped in San Luis Obispo to visit some of our wonderful friends. Hung out with Courtney and met her boyfriend (definitely approved), and had dinner with the Ainsworths (almost!) and the Heads.

It was a great end to our long weekend away.

Can't wait for the rest of our lives together, this first year has been amazing!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for...

PEACOCKS!!!! (And Ice cream)

First of all...

Seriously, Buy this.

Its absolutely wonderful.  We just got the white one, but it comes in other cute colors and makes the most wonderful ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet, sorbet, and slushies.

So far we have made blueberry ice cream, oatmeal chocolate chip cookie ice cream, lemon sorbet (which I am eating as I write this) as well as coke slushies. Next up on the list...Lime sherbet, and margaritas.
Come to Pasadena and we will make you whatever your heart desires. Do it! We will!

And moving on to the Peacocks...

My mom was in town this weekend, and Joey had Friday off, so the three of us took Myles to the LA Arboretum. We had a great time spending the morning exploring the arboretum and Myles had a great time yelling "peacock" and searching for them the whole time.
The problem came when we would find a peacock and Myles would begin screaming louder than ever and immediately demand to be picked up by the closest adult. He became a little cautious at times, which Nammy (Grandma) did not mind at all...
It was a love/hate relationship that he just couldn't seem to figure out! If you have ever been to the Arboretum you would know that there are peacocks EVERYWHERE! Myles would see one from a distance, get real excited screaming "PEACOCK!!!!" and running towards it, but as soon as he would get somewhat close, it became a hysterical screaming/crying fit until he was in someone's arms and he felt that he was a safe distance away. Precious little boy he is.

Oh the Joy...

...Of apartment living.

So as of right now we are living in a construction zone. They have decided to put in some fire sprinklers, and since we live downstairs they cannot go through the attic, so we have quite a few holes cut in our ceiling!

Here are a few pictures of the current state of our home...

Our living room. The storage area for many of our things (the large pile on the right is a lot of our clothes from our closet covered in comforters and plastic)
Our bedroom. They had to move our bed because those wonderful holes were right on top of our bed.
The beautiful new orange pipes that run through our hallway.
Closet.

Kitchen.

Its not too bad, but just inconvenient for now. I am at the library because the construction crew is currently at my house cutting more holes in our ceiling. Wonderful! They say we will hopefully have the holes filled after the inspection in about two weeks. Oh well! At least it helps get us outdoors!

Love. Love. Love.

This weekend was one of our many trips up the 5 for the summer.
On Saturday the wonderful Dunlop family made the trip up to Dublin to spend the day with us and we fell even more in love with their precious little one.

She is such a sweet little one and we loved spending more time with her!
She sure does love her Mom!
Check out that neck workout. She is getting stronger!
Little Ruby enjoyed relaxing on Joey's lap and stretching out. Look at those big beautiful eyes!

The wedding was beautiful and we had a great time! Sadly I forgot I had my camera with me until the end of the evening, so I missed pictures of the beautiful bride and groom!
It was great seeing a lot of friends that miss living down here!
