From Fairytales to Coolio...

The rest of our Rocklin weekend was busy and wonderful! We went to fairytale town on Friday morning and Myles had a great time! There are a ton of slides and animals, so he was a happy boy (Shannon has most of the pictures on her camera).

Myles was also a big fan of the sheep, and they seemed to enjoy him too!

The rest of the boys arrived on Friday evening and we happily met them for garlic chips at Pizzeria Classico. It was a great meal (as always) and a wonderful little family reunion.

Saturday we spent the morning at the cement slides again (videos have already been posted), and then spent the afternoon visiting friends, napping, and shopping.
On Saturday night we went to chinese food to celebrate Mom's birthday and came home for Lemon Meringue. Yum.

Sunday after church and some wonderful rolled tacos the five of us Southern Californians headed out on a family road trip back to Pasadena.
Myles was once again a great traveler and even enjoyed some of his Mom's favorite music!

We had a great time this weekend with the family and are looking forward to next weekend when we drive up to Dublin for some wedding fun and spending time with Joey's parents, friends, and Max!

Off to the races (again)!!!!

We must have been inspired by the Olympics, although no one braved going down "skeleton" style. On Saturday we packed up the wax paper, carpet squares, and towels for another day at the cement slides.
Since we had such a good time at the slides earlier in the week (see blog below) we wanted to bring the boys back for a few races. We started off slow for the day, but as we added more and more wax to the slide on our way down it became a lot faster! (Shannon was covered in Band-Aids after our experience this time).

The Lewis race...

Myles and his "Nammy" going down together a little slower...

The Olsens race down...

Sisters...and part of the reason for Shannon's Band-Aids...

Brothers...

Shannon and Dad...

Good thing they both had help at the bottom! The last run of the day could have been disastrous without it. We had a great time, so I thought I would share the videos. An update of the rest of our weekend will come soon. I'm starting to enjoy blogging again.

Busy Birthday Surprise weekend Part 1

Shannon, Myles, and I flew up to Rocklin on Wednesday to surprise Mom for her birthday :) She gets younger every year! I had to call Mom on Tuesday to tell her I would be coming in to town and she needed to get my from the airport. We did have a great surprise plan figured out, by Mom was definitely not cooperating. I asked her to wait at the car because I left my backpack in the airport...she was very concerned at this point. It was wonderful seeing her face when Shannon and Myles walked out the door with my backpack (and the rest of their luggage). Myles gave his Grammy a wonderful birthday sign that he made on the plane on the way there (ps. Myles is the best flying baby in the world. He has set the standard high...except when he flung his slinky across the aisle and hit the off duty pilot flying with us).

After stopping for lunch at La Bou, we came home and Myles helped move the furniture so that he would have a bigger play area without those awful pointy corners in the way.
After a quick nap for Myles and some lounging around and catching up for me, shan, and mom, we headed out with our wax paper and carpet squares. Off to the cement slides we went! Shannon and I grew up going to the cement slides and had a few birthday parties there so we were exciting to take Myles. We all took turns riding down with Myles. He loved it!

After the cement slides we headed over to the Linthicum's house to visit and borrow some supplies for today's activities. Then we headed off to Adalberto's for Mom's birthday rolled tacos, and had some ice cream after (pretty sure Myles ate more ice than any of us).
Continuing our weekend o' fun, we headed up to the snow today to see if the little guy would like sledding. He was so cute in his little snowsuit (thanks to Aaron and Jen...and mostly austin) and could barely move he was so bundled up.
He seemed to enjoy the cold snow, but was a little timid of the sledding at first. He was a big fan of throwing snow at his auntie and took a few runs with his Mom. He was very concerned watching each one of us as we came sliding/tumbling down the hill. Mom and Shannon soaring down towards us, a little off course at this point. Myles was not too happy watching them scream down the hill. I think this was taken as Mom was flying over the bump on our course. This is one of my favorites, we were flying past Shannon so fast she almost didn't catch us.
Myles throwing snow (with the help of his mother).

We are all looking forward to the rest of our weekend up north. Tomorrow evening all the rest of the boys arrive (Myles wont have so much responsibility keeping us under control on his own), and in the morning we are heading to Fairytale Town! Hurry up and join us in the fun boys!
