Kauai Day 3

Okay, I think once we finally finish updating Kauai, it will be a lot easier to keep up with our day to day life. So here we go again...

On Thursday (our third day) we got up early and headed over to Kipu Ranch for our 4 hour long ATV tour. It was so much fun! We went on a tour that took us to some beautiful places. We saw where Jurassic Park was taped, as well as parts of Indiana Jones and a bunch of others that I dont remember now. We rode through many different types of terrain on our tour. One of my favorites was riding through a cow pasture and being just a few feet away from a lot of cows. It was only a little scary when they stared into your eyes. We saw a lot of wild chickens and a few wild pigs.

We loved our ATV day. We chose to each drive our own instead of riding together on one like the other couples :) The 4 hour tour included a stop for lunch, a quick stop at a river with a rope swing, and the ride ended up a beautiful waterfall that we hiked down to. The water was very refreshing and a great end to a fun trip.

We also stopped by a couple of water falls after the ATV tour... dont judge our incredibly dirty clothes.

After we headed back to the hotel we spent the rest of the day in the pool and then headed over to Mai Tai hour at the hotel and found a wonderful place to spend our evening sitting on the beach reading and watching the local surfers, dogs on boogie boards, and skim boarding. It was a beautiful. This is one of my favorite pictures.

Kaui: Days 1 and 2

Okay, so now we finally begin our recap of our wonderful honeymoon in Kauai.

We arrived on Monday afternoon and drove our great little rental car over to our hotel to check in. We found our wonderful room then headed out to find some food.

(The view from our hotel room)

We were starving! (Why in the world did they stop giving us food on airplanes? Not even peanuts!) We found the bar and grill at our hotel and went for a late lunch.

We enjoyed the rest of the day at the pool and then headed over to Mai Tai hour by the ocean. They had free Mai Tais and live music/hula dancers from 5-6 almost every day. We listened to the music for a while then headed over to a hammock by the ocean to relax for a while.

Realizing that we were exhausted we headed back to the room and ended up ordering room service for dinner because we were too tired to head out anywhere else. It was definitely the last time we would do that!

Tuesday morning we got up and had breakfast at the restaurant at our hotel. We had a great view of the ocean during our meal.

We headed over to the concierge and the activity planner and planned out the rest of our trip with their help.
For the rest of the morning we went for a hike along the ocean cliffs on the Maha ulepu trail that was pretty close to our hotel.

Then off to the store for food for breakfast and peanut butter and bread that we could use for the rest of the week. We also came home with lunch :)

That evening we followed the recommendation of our friend Joanna Carr and had dinner at the Beach House Restaurant right next to the water. Before dinner we headed over to the Spouting Horn, to see the water shooting out of the rocks up into the air every time a large wave came.

We had an amazing view of the sunset during dinner and both had wonderful meals at the Beach House, thanks to Joanna (it was our wedding present from her).

That's all for now. More to come very soon!

We're back!

So we made it back from our honeymoon late last night. We had such a great time these past few weeks, but are sadly heading back to LA tomorrow morning to start "real life". We are looking forward to updating you on our trip.
Dont worry...it is coming soon!
