Spring Break Part I- LA

Our week and a half long Spring Break trip started with a trip to LA to spend time with our family and friends.
Kayleigh was great in the car! We only stopped once on the way down for lunch/bathroom/kayleigh running through the gas station grabbing everything she could get her hands on!

Once we got into LA, we stopped in Montrose on our way into town to visit Ginny and see Mari and the girls!
Kayleigh was happy to be out of the car and played in the sandbox and painted with Grace.

We eventually made our way to Pasadena and Kayleigh was quite happy to see her Myles. She LOVES this boy (and his brother)!
On Thursday, we headed to APU to meet up with the whole Higerd family for lunch and to visit friends who work there.
Sadly, right after lunch Kayleigh got Nursemaid's elbow (dislocation of her elbow). I will tell you that we will NEVER again "fly" our sweet daughter while we are holding her hands and walking. Poor little thing was such a tough girl that afternoon!
We had to go to the Urgent Care for them to pop in back in, x-rays, and another try to get it back in (which apparently after two tries, everything was still not in place). We took her home for a nap and sadly she popped her elbow back up as she was waking up from her nap. So, off to Urgent care we went! This time they really got it back in!

After our busy (and sad) afternoon/evening on Thursday, we were looking forward to seeing the Williams family on Friday! We headed out for a hike and then to Doughboy's (our favorite) for lunch!

Kayleigh was very happy to see her buddy Hank again and warmed up very quickly to both Andy and Kateigh as well!

Smooches all around!

On Saturday, Joey and I attended his Grandma's memorial service and enjoyed some time with his family sharing special memories of his Grandparents.

Kayleigh spent the day with Shannon and Kevin and the boys and was quite happy!

On Saturday afternoon we made it back in time for Myles' t-ball game!

She is his biggest fan!

Then it was off to dinner with the family (We need to start taking more pictures of all of us together!).

The start of our trip was wonderful (other than the elbow incident)! It is always great to spend time with the Lewis Family and see our friends in the LA area. Thanks for taking good care of us!

Snow bunny...or Michelin man

A few weekends ago we headed up to Truckee to introduce Kayleigh to the snow and try out snowshoeing for the first time.

We had a great day (other than the time Kayleigh face planted in the parking lot and ended up with road rash all over her face)! Such a tough girl.

Here are the pictures from our day! More updates soon on our Spring Break vacation!

A girl and her garden

I am going to attempt to pick up my blogging again (I blame Joey using the computer for school every night as my excuse for the lack of blogs recently).

Last weekend we got Kayleigh her own little watering can because she loved helping water everything in the backyard. It was perfect. She spent a few hours in the backyard making sure that then entire yard was soaked.

I borrowed my Dad's camera to capture a few of these precious moments with our little one.

I love this one!

Tasting what the plants live in :)

Gardening in a dress and tights can be dirty!

Watering her own feet to make sure she grows!

Love this sweet face and those beautiful blue eyes.

Here's to (hopefully) blogging more often again!

Party Time!

Kayleigh's first birthday party (AKA our "Woo Hoo! We made it through our first year of parenting" party!) was so much fun (and it was two months ago!!!)

Kayleigh was also dedicated that morning at church. It was a big day for her!

And...its party time!

Sweet birthday girl.

We are so thankful to have the wonderful friends and family who love and support us as a family and were able to come celebrate Kayleigh's big day (and so many others who weren't able to be here for the day or aren't in the following pictures).

Thank you all for loving this little 1 year old!

Birthday!

Kayleigh's birthday was such a fun day/weekend.

On her actual birthday we spent the day at the zoo and getting garlic chips at our favorite pizza place in Folsom, and of course getting Kayleigh her first ice cream cone!

It was a great day spent celebrating the sweetest little One year old!

One Year!

In honor of Kayleigh turning 13 months (a few days ago) I decided to finally finish her 1 year old blog!

Here are Kayleigh's One Year pictures. There aren't very many because it is very hard to get this girl to sit still! Most of the pictures were blurry streaks of Kayleigh attempting to escape from the chair.

I love this one of her pushing a wagon full of children's books that was outside of a store in Folsom to be sold. Kayleigh thought it looked pretty great and that she should take it for herself. Sweet girl.

Kayleigh's official 1 year old stats:

Weight: 23 pounds (70th percentile)
Height: 90th percentile
The Doctor told us: "You have a BIG one year old."
Kayleigh is wearing 18-24 month clothes and some 2T clothes.

At One year Kayleigh...
-Gives smooches. To everything. I saw her kissing the floor the other day.
-Is walking! Loves holding onto fingers, but is definitely independent and loves to walk on her own.
-Is talking a lot more. Although we cant understand most of what she says, its very sweet. She is starting to have a more mature speech pattern.
-"Woofs" at most doggies (either pictures or real life)
-Loves going to the zoo and waving and blowing kisses at all of the animals.
-Loves reading and turning the pages in her books.
-Still loves the park. She loves the swing and sliding down the slide.
-Is understanding more of what we are saying. She is able to point to her nose, eyes, and ears.
-Has her Papa here to entertain every day.
-Is constantly moving.
-Had her first haircut (at 13 months).
-Hides anything she can find. Whenever we lose things around the house we now look in her hiding spots (Under the couch and the chair, or in the couch cushions) first and usually find what we need.
-Thinks so many different things are hilarious. Hearing her belly laugh is one of the best sounds in the entire world.
-Still loves dancing.
-Loves carrying heavy things around the house. Current favorite: the gallon bottle of vinegar.
-Is still a good eater (when all of her food isnt thrown on the ground).
-Loves her yogurt popsicles.
-Loves peanut butter!

We are so thankful to be parents to this wonderful, sweet, loving little girl!
